What's new?

The D1000X detector is now available. The D1000X is our new professional bat detector with heterodyne, frequency division and time expansion systems. It also has a built-in 16-bit recording system using a Compact Flash card as storage medium, making it possible to save the recordings without having to use a separate tape recorder. The recording length is only limited by the available space on the CF card. Using a separate ultrasound loudspeaker, it is also possible to replay the ultrasonic signals with the D1000X.

The D240x detector is based on the popular D240 model and has a number of new and very useful functions, such as increased time expansion memory storage time (max 3.4 sec), manual and level-sensitive triggering and replay of the memory contents through the heterodyne system. Using an optional interface box, it is also possible to make the D240x automatically dump each time expanded sequence onto a connected cassette tape recorder or computer.

Version 3.3 of the real-time spectrogram sound analysis software BatSound is now available. Version 3.3 includes the new Automatic Recording mode, in which it is possible to have the computer record sounds automatically. The desired threshold level is selected and the computer will start recording to a sound file as soon as the signal exceeds this level. Many parameters are available to fine-tune this mode, e.g. by setting limits for the minimum pulse length, total recording time, maximum number of pulses to record etc. Frequency-selective triggering is also available, to avoid recording undesired signals.

New since version 3.1 is also the "Pulse Characteristics Analysis" command. This allows automatic extraction of many important signal parameters, such as:

Download an evaluation version (1210 kb) of BatSound 3.30! To install, run the file setup.exe. Before installing, please check that your computer meets the System requirements.

In addition to all functions found in BatSound, BatSound Pro also supports direct recording and playback of ultrasonic signals at sampling rates up to 500 kHz!. Using one of the supported fast PCMCIA data acquisition cards on your laptop, you can view the spectrograms in the field immediately after making a recording. This system is also capable of replaying the recorded signal at reduced speed, i.e. it will work just like a time expansion bat detector.
